I’m not sure what else to say to express how unbelievable this video is. It goes without saying that the skills exhibited are fantastic - they’re well above just about every example of urban acrobatics and parkour that I’ve seen before. But beyond that, this video balances perfectly between professional editing and shot choices, and the amateur personality that has you feeling that these guys would be great to just hang out with. Even if you don’t have 14 minutes to spare, find the time and watch this video. You’ll never look at playground equipment in the same way again.

Over the space of two years (part of which was during his time at an animation school), Mike Stern put together a great animation called ‘Distraxion’. It’s great because the message is simply, it’s delivered in a charming way, the characters are relatable, and the animation is perfectly clean without being overly realistic. And I mustn’t be the only one who thinks it’s great; it’s picked up three awards for best animation at a variety of film festivals, and it’s been part of the official selection at seventeen others. It’s a great way to spend two minutes of your life

When Kat Reilly decided to edit the Muppets to the trailer for the 2001 version of ‘Ocean’s 11’, I doubt even she realised how great it’d be. Kermit the Frog as George Cloony as Danny Ocean? How about Rowlf as Brad Pitt as Rusty Ryan? Or maybe Gonzo as Matt Damon as Linus Caldwell is more for you? You know this idea has potential. Now we just need to find someone with enough time on their hands to make this into a full length feature. What’s next? ‘Se7en Smurfs’, or perhaps Nicholas Cage and Sean Connery in ‘The Fraggle Rock’.
