Survey Review – Servcorp International Business Confidence Survey – 0.5 Stars

In April, Servcorp commissioned a survey of 7,500 international businesspeople from 24 countries as to which countries are best surviving the global financial crisis. Here are my issues: (a) Servcorp rents out office space – they’ve got no need for information like this; (b) Servcorp is an Australian company, and surprise, surprise, Australia is the best place to be; and (c) nowhere, in any of the press releases or Servcorp website, is there any detail about the survey itself, aside from how many people it covered – who ran the survey, how many international participants were involved, what the questions were? Urgh.

Movie Review - Adam & Eve (2005) - 0.5 Stars

I want that hour and a half of my life back. National Lampoon have done some good stuff in the past, so when I heard this being advertised as an “Hilarious comedy in the spirit of Animal House and Van Wilder” I thought it might be worthwhile. I was wrong. It’s a combination of contrived storyline, terrible writing, and dour acting. The only thing that I liked about this movie was the soundtrack - a nice selection of relatively unknown grunge, punk and acoustic songs. So maybe listen to the soundtrack. But never, ever, waste your time seeing this movie.

TV Review – The Biggest Loser – 0.5 Stars

Why do intelligent people continue to watch this crap? Is it really as base a desire as the need to sit on the couch, eating pizza, and thinking, “At least I’m not as fat as them”? There’s no reason that weight loss should be done on television and no reason for it to be a competition. The participants on the show are losing weight in an unhealthy manner. Medically, they should be losing no more than one kilo per week. There is only one positive aspect of this show – it’s forcing people with incorrect attitudes towards health to relearn them.
