Movie Review - King Kong (2005) - 1.5 Stars

I can only assume that Peter Jackson thought that by spending loads of money on CGI he wouldn’t have to worry about quality writing, acting or directing. It’s an inexcusable mistake considering that he was paid $20 million upfront to direct this. And don’t think that I’m automatically dismissing this based on the fact that it’s a remake. There are plenty of high quality remakes out there (e.g. ‘Scarface’ or ‘3:10 to Yuma’). Unfortunately, this isn’t one of them. It’s just a bad film. If you haven’t seen the 1933 version, check it out as an example of cinematic class.
